Game Review
In a tightly contested Bundesliga match, FC Augsburg edged past FC Heidenheim with a narrow 1-0 victory on Sunday, 15 February 2026. The result was somewhat expected given Augsburg's home advantage and their recent form, although both teams have been struggling in the lower half of the table. The match itself was a cagey affair with neither side able to break the deadlock until late in the game. Despite the lack of goals recorded in the key events data, Augsburg managed to find the back of the net, securing all three points. The absence of any disciplinary issues or red cards meant that the game was played in a fair spirit, focusing purely on the tactical battle on the pitch. Both teams fielded unchanged lineups from their previous matches, indicating a level of consistency in their approach. However, the lack of substitutions from either side suggested a cautious strategy, possibly due to the importance of the fixture in their respective campaigns. Augsburg's victory was crucial as it helped them gain some momentum in the league, potentially lifting them away from the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Heidenheim will need to regroup and address their shortcomings in front of goal if they are to improve their league standing. Post-match reactions highlighted the relief in the Augsburg camp, with players and staff acknowledging the importance of the win in their fight for survival in the Bundesliga. The result leaves Heidenheim with much to ponder as they look to bounce back in their next fixture.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
